1946-2013
It is with great sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Elena Fiorino, after a courageous battle with cancer. Cherished wife of Giovanni Fiorino and loving mother of Franco (Vicky Makris) and Stephanie (Frank Saltarelli). Proud and devoted Nonna to Tristan and Jesse. She will be sadly missed by her sisters Assunta (Luigi Iuele), Emma (Luigi Reda), her brothers Luigi (Rosetta De Rose) and Frank (Antonietta Albano), her brother-in-law Mario (Patricia Perri), her sister-in-law Rosetta Ponzo, as well as her many nieces, nephews and friends. Many thanks go out to Dr. Gottlieb, Dr. Lau and Dr. Press. Further thanks to Nancy Drummond, Marie-France and the staff of the 8th floor of the oncology department of the Jewish General Hospital. Special thanks to Celine Bourassa for her support and the West Island Palliative Care Residence. Visitation at Rideau Funeral Home, 4275 Sources Blvd., DDO, 514-685-3344, on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 from 2 to 5 pm and 7 to 9 pm. A funeral service will take place at St. Luke's Parish, 106A Anselme-Lavigne, DDO, on March 20, 2013 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Children's Wish Foundation at www.childrenswish.ca
