After a long illness, Liliane Boyer Cunningham passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 10th at L’Unité de la Fontaine in Lachute, Quebec. Liliane is survived by her five children: Christina (Bruce) Ransom, Suzanne (Blair Taker) Cunningham, Michael (Donna) Cunningham, Paul (Linda) Cunningham, and Pierre. She will be sadly missed by her eleven grandchildren: Tara (Jon), John (Stefanie), Shannon (Mike), Nick (Alex), Matthew (Heather), Sarah, Katie, Allie, Tom, Jameson and Erin. She also leaves dearest great-grandchildren: Kira, Kevin, Vincent and Brodie
A beauty queen pageant winner in 1949, Liliane was a sports enthusiast. She was a gymnast and competed in tennis and later played badminton and joined a bowling league. She was an ardent skier and she loved skiing the northern trails on weekends between Ste. Agathe and St. Sauveur..
She married Arthur Cunningham in 1954, They were charter members of Glenmore Curling Club and later were members of Lachute Curling Club where she served as a director. Liliane loved to golf and was a long time member of Dunany Country Club.
The word that best describes Liliane is passion. Her husband, family, friends, gardens, crafts and her faith were the focus of her life. She was active in many community services including the Argenteuil Health and Social Services Centre in Lachute.
Funeral services will be held at Ste-Anastasie, 174, Rue Bethanie, Lachute, QC J8H2M1, Tel: 450-562-2432 on Saturday July 21st at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive condolences at the church at 10:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate your thoughts and remembrances as donations to the Unité de la Fontaine or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
