1930 -2010

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Walter Ross Richardson of Pointe Claire on February 22, 2012. Married for 55 years, he will be missed by his wife, Marilyn (nee Gaudin) his two daughters, Joyce and Barbara (Alain), his two grandsons Isaac Olmstead and David Ladouceur as well as his great granddaughter Leah Olmstead. He is also survived by his sister Rhoda Craig (Arnold) of Bozeman, Montana. Born in Eastend, Saskatchewan, Ross spent his teenage years in Banff, Alberta. He began his career by studying at Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa, Oklahoma and upon completion he took a position at A.V. Roe in Toronto and then moving on to Canadair, now Bombardier. Prior to retiring, he contributed to the design of such aircraft as the Avro Arrow, CL-215 Water Bomber and the Challenger. He will always be remembered for his passion for airplanes and books.

Visitation will be held at Rideau Funeral Home, 4275 Sources Blvd, DDO (514) 685-3344, on Sunday, February 26, 2012 from 2 to 5 pm. A funeral service will also be held at Rideau Funeral Home on Monday, February 27, 2012 at 1 pm.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
