STREETER (NÉE THOMPSON), Ola Mae

2024

Granby

English version only

Peacefully on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at the Prince of Wales Manor in Nepean, Ontario, at the age of 99 years and 5 months.

Born and raised in Sutton Junction, Ola was the daughter of the late Hilda Johnston and the late Gerald Thompson, and stepdaughter of the late Robert

Wilson. She spent most of her adult life in Waterloo, Quebec as the beloved wife of the late Raymond Streeter for fifty-nine years. She was loving mother and mother-in-law of Nora (Garth Durrell), Helen (Milton Borenzweig) and Audrey (the late Steve Lickfold).

Cherished by her grandchildren Scott Durrell (Yasmin Scheel), Shari Scott (Sean Scott) and Dawn Borenzweig (Ryan Milligan), Ola was proud great grandmother to Noah and Anika Durrell and Bruce and Colin Scott.

Ola was predeceased by her brother, Ersel Thompson, sister Murial Whitehead and brother, Arnold Wilson, and is survived by her brother, Ronald Wilson. She will be lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews and their families, and by numerous cousins and friends.

Ola found companionship in her later years with, and was predeceased by, special friend Lawrence McElroy.

Ola was known for her dedication to, and hard work for, St Luke’s Anglican Church In Waterloo, where she served for years as the President of the Ladies Guild, President of the Altar Guild and volunteer at many card parties, church suppers, and rummage sales.

We wish to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Ola’s devoted and compassionate caregivers, the Staff at Prince of Wales Manor, for their dedicated care and kindness.

Cremation was held in Granby at Les Jardins Funéraires Bessette Crematorium.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Contributions in Ola’s memory may be made to the Brome Missisquoi Perkins Hospital in Cowansville https://fondationbmp.ca/en/home/.
