SMITH Paul Russell
1947-2024
MAGNUS POIRIER INC.Paul R. Smith, age 76, passed away May 2, 2024 at his Montreal home.
He is survived by his sisters Louise, Stephanie Jeane, nieces Karine (Daniel, Nathan, Justin), Anne-Marie (Daniel, Lyra, Neve), and nephew Pierre-Alexandre.
Paul was a proud member of the Canadian Army and served in many units (Canadian Airborne Regiment, PPCLI, UN) during his active career. As a veteran, Paul’s sense of exploration remained fulfilled as a commercial vehicle operator exploring most of North America, including ice roads. He was an avid admirer of neighbourhood dogs out on their daily walks. Paul was a kind and generous person that volunteered with the Hadley Community for many years.
He is remembered for his willingness to help others whenever needed and seeing the brighter side of things. It is impossible to think of Paul without remembering his smile, positive outlook on life, sense of humour and of course his love for apple pie and vanilla ice cream.
Friends are welcomed to pay tribute to Paul by volunteering with a non-profit organisation of their choice or by donating to The Neuro (Montreal Neurological Institute-Hospital). The family will grieve and support each other privately.
